Nicola Colafelice Conductor

At the age of eight, he started his musical studies with the Cello under the guidance of M ° Vito Paternoster, achieving the lowest achievement in 2006. From 1998 to 2001 he will play the Cello in the Youth Orchestra of Conservatory Niccolò Piccinni, covering from 2001 to 2005 the role of Primo Cello. Interested forever in all forms of expression in the musical field, he undertook the study of the Opera Voice under the guidance of his father, Mr. Giacomo Colafelice, and in 2009 obtained the diploma of singing at the Egidio Romoaldo Duni Conservatory in Matera and in 2012 Laurea Master in Musical Disciplines Voice at the Braga Institute of Teramo with the highest marks. In 2010 he won the scholarship of the Accademia Teatro alla Scala of Milan: Postgraduate Diploma for Autonomous Music and Self-Professionals A.F. 2010/2011 - V Edition, Milan at the Fondazione Accademia of the Teatro alla Scala - Milan. From 2005 to 2007 : Stage Director at Bitonto Opera Festival. From 2009 to 2012 he has been a Stage Master at the Fondazione Lirico Sinfonica Petruzzelli and the Theaters of Bari. This will enable him to work in the work of Directors: Walter Pagliaro, Elena Barbalich, Francesco Esposito, Daniele Abbado, Michal Znaniecki, Roberto De Simone , Boris Stetka, Michele Mirabella, Vittorio Sgarbi, Federico Tiezzi, William Kerley, Denis Krief. Directors: Stefan Anton Reck, Renato Palumbo, Keri-Lynn Wilson, Jonathan Webb, Antonino Fogliani, Evelino Pidò, Vito Clemente, Boris Brott, Fabio Mastrangelo, Alberto Veronesi, Nik Cabaretti, Ralf Weikert, Roberto Abbado and Lorin Maazel.
Graduating in Orchestra Conducting under the guidance of M ° Giovanni Pelliccia. For musical performances and events of the same institution, he conducted in Bari in the 2015 the Igor Stravinskij’s Suite 1 for Little Orchestra, in July 2016 for the Beethoven Piano Festival he conducted the Piano Concert and Orchestra op. 19 n. 2 at the Redentore Institute in Bari, in October 2016 he conducted the Concerto for Clarinet and String Orchestra by A. Copland, in March 2017 for the project The Illuminated Shadow he conducted the Serenade for nine instruments by Giovanni Salviucci to the Church of S. Teresa dei Maschi in Bari. In May 2017 he wons a hearing and participates to the Masterclass of Mº Donato Renzetti with the Pomeriggi Musicali Orchestra of Milan at the Arcimboldi Theater. In July 2017 he graduated with 110 and Lode in Orchestra Conducting at the N. Piccinni Conservatory of Bari under the guidance of the Mº G. Pelliccia, where he conducted the Concerto for Horn and Orchestra No. 1 by Richard Strauss and the Symphony No. 3 (Scottish) by Felix Mendelssohn at the Abeliano Theater in Bari.
Now he is working as conductor at the State Opera Theater of Stara Zagora in Bulgaria, where he conducted three chamber operas by: Kurt Weill “Mahagonny - Ein Songspiel” and “Die sieben todsünden” ; by Hindemith “Hin und zurück”. He also recently conducted the “Rigoletto” by G. Verdi at the State Opera Theatre of Stara Zagora thus fulfilling his great opera debut.
He will soon be involved in the recording of extracts from "La bohème" by G. Puccini for the inauguration of the "Golden Linden Cinema Festival" in Bulgaria.
