Born in Badajoz, Spain, Roberto began his musical studies in his native town. Actually, he studies his Masters Degree with Christian Dierstein in Basel (Switzerland). As well, he is studying improvisation with Fred Frith. He has played in new music ensembles as Boswil Ensemble or Reina Sofia Ensemble under conductors as Peter Rundel, Peter Eötvos, Etienne Rolin or Zsolt Nagy. He has do projects with Luzern Sinfonieorchester, hr-Sinfonieorchester Frankfurt or Ensemble Recherche too. He has recorded as well as realized concerts in many Spanish and foreign places in America and Europe. He has been awarded by the Palau de la Música Catalana (Barcelona). As well, Roberto has participated in IMPULS Academy in Graz (Austria) or in the last editions of the Darmstadt Ferienkurse für Neue Musik. It’s really important too the close relationship and work with composers to develop new pieces for solo or percussion duo, as well as pieces for ensembles. An example of this it’s the actual work with George Aperghis, Michael Maierhof, Thomas Meadowcroft, Simon Steen-Andersen, Luciano Azzigotti, Abel Paúl, Óscar Escudero, and others.
