Simone Corti is an italian composer based in Varese (Italy). His music has been commissioned by Divertimento Ensemble, Conservatorio di Milano, Associazione Chamber Music (Trieste), Associazione Amici della Musica (Padova), and performed by conductors Tito Ceccherini and Sandro Gorli, Divertimento Ensemble, mdi Ensemble, United Instruments of Lucilin, Trio Gaon, Trio Kanon and soloists Alfonso Alberti, Laura Bortolotto, Gesualdo Coggi, Lorenzo D’Erasmo.
In 2014 he won the AFAM composition prize (Divertimento Ensemble, Milan). In 2015 he was amongst the finalists in the International Composition Competition “Feeding Music, and in the same year he was finalist in the Premio San Fedele Musica in Milan. In 2016 he won the first prizes at the 17th edition of “Premio Trio di Trieste” and at the 2nd edition of the Conservatory Prize, held at the Milan Conservatory.

In 2016 he took part in the 2nd International Workshop for young composers in Bobbio (PC) organized by Divertimento Ensemble. In 2017 has been selected for the Composition Academy of Rainy Days Festival (Luxembourg). In 2018 obtained the SIAE scholarship and is selected by Ulysses Network to take part in the ManiFeste Academy 2018 and in the Voix Nouvelles Academy 2018 at Royaumont Abbey, where he will write new pieces for Ensemble Intercontemporain and EXAUDI vocal ensemble.

Simone completed his studies in composition in the Conservatory of Milan with Gabriele Manca. In the same Conservatory he obtained with honors a Bachelor and a Master in Piano. He also attended the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome, in the class of Ivan Fedele, where he graduated with honors in 2018. He also studied conducting with J. Kalmar, L. Shambadal and S. Gorli for the contemporary repertoire. He attended masterclasses held by Chaya Czernowin, Philippe Leroux, Alessandro Solbiati, Mauro Lanza, Giacomo Manzoni, Luca Antignani, Noriko Baba and Philippe Hurel.
