[...] In this composition, different forms of money are used to prepare the piano. [...] The musical material is based on the stock prices of the Belgian BEL20 from January 1991 until March 2022.

I took the values from the beginning of each month (resulting in around 370 notes) and mapped them onto the 88 keys of the piano. This became the skeleton of the piece. Interestingly, events such as the financial crisis in 2007/08, the COVID pandemic, and the general unpredictability of the stock market made for fascinating developments.[...]
