Sara Zazo was born in Madrid in 1989; she took her first saxophone lesson when she was 7 years old in Conservatorio de Badajoz, Spain, where she finished her superior studies with professor Vicente Contador, in year 2010. She completed her formation with professor Marie – Bernadette Charrier in Conservatoire “Jacques Thibaud” in Bordeaux, France. She completed in 2017 a Master Pédagogie Instrumentale with Prof. Pierre – Stéphane Meugé, in Haute École de Musique de Lausanne, Switzerland, where already complete her Master Interprétation – Concert between 2013 and 2015. She wins the Fritz Gerber Award 2018 and a Second Prize of Kiefer Hablitzel Stiftung 2016, also Fondations Lyra, Fondation Max Jost and Fondation Irène Dénéréaz support their career. She wins several national and international competitions. She collaborates regularly with Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and Orchestre de Chambre de Genève. She is also invited in year 2018 to Verbier Festival and she wins in year 2018 and 2016 the saxophone position at Lucerne Festival Academy. She has worked with Maestros such as Simon Rattle, Peter Eötvös, Alan Gilbert, Susanna Mälki, Jonathan Nott, Neemi Järvi, Kazuki Yamada, Christoph Eschenbach. Sara participates in 2018 at LUCERNE ALUMNI, playing several concerts in New York under de direction of Matthias Pintscher. Interested by the music of her time, she has worked with composers such as Simon Steen Andersen, Stefano Gervasoni, Heinz Holliger, Georges Aperghis, Olga Neuwirth – between others – and she participates at Darmstadt Ferienkurse 2018 and 2016. She also Lemanic Modern Ensemble, Ensemble Contrechamps. Also, she collaborates with Orquesta de Palau des Arts (Valencia, Spain) and she has been chosen as membre of Schleswig Holstein Musik Festival Academy (Germany) in year 2014 and 2008, and she collaborates in year 2010 with OJEX (Extremadura Youth Orchestra) and OEX (Extremadura Symphonic Orchestra), Spain. Sara is invited by Conservatorio de Zamora, EEMM Valga, CSM Badajoz, Birmingham Conservatoir and Melbourne Faculty of Music as a guest masterclass teacher. In year 2009 she plays the premier in Spain of the Concerto for alto saxophone and orchestra by Henri Tomasi, with the orchestra of the Conservatorio Superior de Badajoz, with conductor Xavier Puig. Sara is founding member of Altera Inde (Contemporay music) and Sax Consort (music of the Renaissance). She is also part of the contemporary music platform Sinfonietta CONTAINER From year 2016, she is the principal saxophone teacher at Conservatoire de La Broye (Switzerland).
