Born in Pereira, Colombia, Angela holds a MA in Music Performance from the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest where she studied with Gábor Dienes and Béla Horváth, being awarded a scholarship by the Hungarian government. Currently, she is pursuing a second MA at the Zurich University of the Arts, in the class of Louise Pellerin. She also studies cor anglais with Martin Frutiger and contemporary music with Matthias Arter.
Her professional experience includes the Franz Liszt Chamber orchestra, Savaria Symphony, Budafoki Dohnanyi Orchestra, Duna Symphony Orchestra, Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra, Bruno Walter Symphony Orchestra, World Peace Philharmonic, Anima Musicae Chamber Orchestra, THReNSeMBle, working with conductors such as Zoltán Kocsis, György Vashegyi, Péter Eötvös, Gábor Horváth, Sergio Cárdenas, Balázs Horváth, Alejandro Posada, Roberto González Monjas, Robert Farkas, Hartmut Keil, Bernard Haitink, among others.
She has worked as an oboe teacher at the Network of Music Schools in Medellín and as a music teacher in her hometown.
Selected to be a member of the Ulysses Ensemble 2018, she got to perform next to the musicians of the Ensemble Intercontemporain, the Orchestra of Radio France and the IEMA, under the baton of conductors Beat Furrer, Sandro Gorli, Lucas Vis, Gregory Vajda and Peter Rundel.
Future engagements include the performance of William Blank's "Eos" for oboe and ensemble, with Arc-en-Ciel ( Zürich University of the Art's contemporary music ensemble), conducted by the composer himself, in November 2018.
