Cecile Lartigau is a singular artist, playing the ondes Martenot. She is fascinated by the John Cage’s philosophy which opens a way toward an emancipation of the performer. That creates and extends her triple vocation as performer, improviser and musicologist, three activities that merge into a single desire for creation. She is currently one of the most rigorous musician in respect of musical scores and asserting at the same time a powerful and recognizable artistic identity.

First violinist, Cecile started studying the ondes Martenot in 2011 with Valérie HartmannClaverie. In 2019, she is awarded a master's degree in ondes Martenot from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris and is supported by several foundations in France. She is currently studying in Artist Diploma at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon. As a musicologist, also holder of a master's degree since 2017, Cecile studies indeterminacy in the music of John Cage and Sylvano Bussotti. As an involved performer, Cecile is committed to highlight masterworks for ondes Martenot solo, chamber music and with orchestra (by Bussotti, Ballif, Murail, Jolivet, Messiaen...). She has rediscovered the first work composed for the ondes by the Greek composer Dimitrios Levidis and she is currently the only one playing it throughout the world. It is a masterpiece for ondes and orchestra called Symphonic Poeme, a mixed aesthetic sometimes sounding with oriental colours, sometimes close to French early 20th music.

Searching new sounds, Cecile improvises and explores different ways alongside Alexandros Markeas, Vincent Lê Quang, Joëlle Leandre among others. Since 2018, she performs in Everything that happenned and would happen, the new production of Heiner Goebbels. She is part of several bands including The Mayfield, the new band of Goebbels.

Cecile has played all over Europe (France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Austria, Slovenia...) as well as United States, Russia and Colombia with leading conductors as Teodor Currentzis, Kazushi Ono, Valentin Uryupin, Christoph Maria Wagner, and Michael Wendeberg. She performed with the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra, MusicAeterna, the Opera of Lyon Orchestra, the E-Mex Ensemble and also worked with the choregrapher Saburo Teshigawara. She has taken part of famous festivals as Festival Messiaen (FR), RuhrTriennale (DE), Diaghilev Festival (RU), Transeuropa (IT).

In 2021, Cecile premieres the Turangalîla Symphony of Olivier Messiaen at Ljubljana with the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra, Michael Wendeberg (conductor) and Sae Lee (piano). The same year, she records Pièces de Chair II of Sylvano Bussotti with the E-Mex Ensemble at Cologne.
